Most women who end up in the public hospitals due to complications with a pregnancy, loss of a baby, needing a hysterectomy, or are struggling with infertility are told that what is happening to them is their fault. That the loss of their baby was their fault. They are left in the hospitals with little to no compassion, no way to contact their loved ones as they can't have their phones with them, and left to feel alone. The hospitals are so underfunded that they don't provide the women with basic hygiene products or even a blanket.
We want to come alongside these women in the hospital, providing them with a hygiene kit consisting of a brush/comb, tissues, shampoo, soap, socks, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. Each woman will also receive a handmade baby blanket or prayer shawl, along with a card with Psalms 139: 13-16 printed on it. We want to pray with the women, letting them know that they are not alone, that what is happening to them is not their fault, and if they lost a baby, that their child is important and it's ok to grieve the loss of their baby.
