Donna grew up on a dairy farm and was a registered nurse in the ED for 7 years before moving to Guatemala. She had taken multiple trips to Guatemala prior to moving.
Peter has been working in missions for most of his life, working as a translator for medical teams, helping with medical clinics, and leading children's club and youth group. He has a degree in Photography.
Peter and Donna met on a medical mission trip where Peter was a translator and Donna was a nurse. It was during that trip to Guatemala that Donna felt called to move to Guatemala and work with Peter and his mother, Estella.
In 2018, Peter and Donna got married.

My name is Daniel. Currently, I’m in my last year of college, studying Environmental Engineering. I was born in a Christian home and had the opportunity to know God at a young age. Over the years, I have worked in different ministries and organizations. I’ve been able to learn a lot from each one of them. I’m excited to see what the Lord has in store. My wish is to work for His Kingdom through this ministry.
My life has been a constant reflection of His love, taking care of me, showing me the correct path, and loving me. I’m here to serve Him.

I worked at an editorial for a while; but I felt God telling me to quit that job and to focus on working for His kingdom. I took that step, putting all my faith in Him.
I'm a firm believer that everything that happens in our lives, including the dreams we pray for and the people we meet, is not a coincidence. Everything has a purpose and everything comes at the perfect time, especially when it comes from God and His kingdom. I'm expectant for all of the things God will do through this ministry.

I met Peter and Donna soon after they started holding clinics in Rio Dulce. I am native to the area and am a part of the Q'eqchi' community. I am now full-time with this ministry. I help to translate from Spanish to the Q'eqchi' dialect and vice versa. I also cook for the teams, help in triage, and help to host the teams in our Rio Dulce base.
It's a blessing to help, especially in making sure the natives understand how to take their medications. I help to keep everything organized at the clinic base when the whole team is not in Rio Dulce and have the house ready when they arrive for the week.

My hope is to help local communities find ways for development through tourism and a proper use of natural resources. The goal is to work alongside the people and make a plan that will adapt to each community individually, based on their needs and the availability of resources. Some of these projects are fish farming, poultry farming, vegetable gardening, and using natural products to make artisanal items such as jewelry, handbags, dishware, etc.
Estella
Hello, my name is Estella. I have been working in ministry for over thirty years. I served with Donna and Peter for the first couple of years when they started this ministry in Palin, Escuintla until Covid in 2020.
I rejoined Impacting 1 Life at a Time on September 2023. I'm blessed to be able to serve in this area. I have seen God doing great things in the lives of the local people.

Sophie and I (Wilmer) met in 2014. Three years later, we had our first child, Andrew, and two years later, our daughter, Alexandra. We met the Pitmans through a soccer tournament. After some time, we became good friends and my wife started helping them with medical clinics, working in the pharmacy area.
It was sad for us when we learned that they were moving away and would continue their ministry in a different part of the country. Two years went by and eventually we were able to reconnect. God’s timing is perfect. We were going through a rough time when they told us they felt God had put in their hearts to ask us to join their team. My wife had already had a dream that we were working with them, and this was now a confirmation.
We are so thankful for this opportunity; it has been a big change for our family. But, we are thankful especially for our children to have a better opportunity in life.
