Donna and Peter Pitman started Impacting One Life at a Time in 2017 after Donna moved from Pennsylvania to Guatemala full-time. Originally, our mission was based in Palin, Escuintla. We ran monthly medical clinics, weekly kid's club and youth group during the first three years of ministry.
After 3 years in Palin, we felt like God was calling our ministry to help serve a more remote area of Guatemala. The Covid-19 pandemic caused the public health clinics to close, which allowed the opportunity for us to do clinics in different villages all over Guatemala. At the end of 2020, we had clinics in the Rio Dulce area, along a part of the river that is very remote and surrounded by jungle. That is when we felt God calling for us to settle in this area.
Currently, we run medical clinics in 13 remote villages for people who would otherwise have no access to healthcare. We also have various other programs for children, youth, and young adults. These include art club, health classes, girl's Bible study, sports program and a children's club. The programs allow kids to be kids, learn the love of Jesus while having fun, and also learn other valuable life lessons.
We love to have teams of all sizes come down. All teams are welcome, from medical teams, to construction, wanting to work with the kids and youth, or running a camp or Bible school type program. There are plenty of areas where people can come and help. Not sure what you would be able to help with or want to do more than one thing? No problem! We can help plan and find something that you will love! Together, we can make a huge difference in so many lives. It's a life changing experience for both you and those we help. You CAN Impact One Life At A Time!!
