We hosted our first team from the USA and from our Guatemala ministry base! During this time, we held 3 medical clinics, seeing over 200 patients in each clinic.
The first clinic was held in a school in Corozal, which is the town where our ministry is located. While patients were waiting to be seen, the kids colored. Many of the moms also joined in with the kids. It was such a wholesome moment, watching these moms interacting with their children.
For the second clinic, there was a last minute change with where we were to hold clinic due to the municipality building being double booked. So our Colombia Director, Jinnela, had to make a few phone calls and within minutes, she had it resolved. A generous church member offered to hold our clinic on their front porch. So, we set it all up and had a wonderful clinic day there!
For the last clinic, we traveled to Palomo, a little village about 2 hours away from Corozal. We rented a bus for the day to get to and from the clinic location. Jinnela had arranged for us to have a police escort to just make sure that everyone was safe. We saw quite a few really sick kids at this clinic. Thankfully, we had a battery powered nebulizer and was able to use it for the kids who really needed it.
On the last few days of our trip, we spent time in Cartagena. We were able to tour around Cartagena and the surrounding islands. We are so thankful for our time in Colombia and for each member of this team and their hard work!
